Imagine having all your questions answered about book publishing and marketing in one afternoon—perhaps not all, but participants will surely benefit from this collaborative one-day workshop by the Florida Authors & Publishers Association (FAPA) and the Tallahassee Writers Association (TWA).

“The ABCs of Book Publishing & Marketing” workshop will be held on Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the DeVoe Moore Center Conference Room, 150 Bellamy Building, Florida State University. Registration is $65; TWA members will receive a $15 rebate if attending the workshop. A networking box lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. is included in the workshop price.

Terri Gerrell, Southern Yellow Pine Publishing founder, will cover all things publishing including types, sales breakdowns, contracts, and more. Jane R. Wood, author of five juvenile fiction books, will present on book format and design. Rocky Porch Moore, who’s writing is classified as “horror, with a distinctly Southern style,” will share pre-marketing materials such as engaging an audience, building social media, and using local publicity. Mark Wayne Adams, national award-winning author, illustrator, and publisher, will discuss tips on finding niche markets and branding.
